Patrick Murphy will speak on “HVAC and Insulation – Comfort Solutions for Historic Rowhouses” on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at Ebenezers Coffee House, 2nd and E Streets NE.
Patrick will talk about the importance of tightening the homes envelope through use insulation, improving comfort, reducing energy costs by using high efficiency HVAC equipment (basics), the different equipment options available today (Mini-Splits, Heat Pumps, Split Systems/Package Units) and, briefly, about geothermal. He will also discuss the challenges presented within the historic district, including fitting quality HVAC into small homes and tight places, and the importance of including the HVAC design into the homes design during planning phase. The presentation will end with a discussion and question/answer session.
