Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at 6:30 pm, Maygene Daniels an architectural archivist, will present a virtual Preservation Cafe, “Exploring House History in the Time of COVID.”
The essence of our historic Capitol Hill neighborhood lies in the combined stories of its contributing buildings – homes, stores, churches, schools and more. Even though COVID has closed archives, libraries and government offices, essential, rich web resources are still readily available for study of these structures.

Join Maygene Daniels on Wednesday, February 17, at 6:30 pm for the next CHRS virtual Preservation Cafe to learn how to use these free on-line sources to explore the history of your own house and our Capitol Hill neighborhood. Even during COVID, you will discover that a wealth of resources s readily available to study and understand the history of your house and your block and its development over time. You also will be introduced to the importance of the the L’Enfant street grid and early building regulations as these have shaped our neighborhood.
