Vince Vaise, Chief of Visitor Services, National Capital Parks-East will discuss the history of Anacostia Park at the Overbeck Lecture on Monday, September 24, 2018, 7:30 p.m. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the integration of the Park and particularly the pool.
The lecture will be presented at Hill Center at Old Naval Hospital, 921 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE, at 7:30 p.m. As always, admission is free but a reservation is required due to limited seating. To register check the Hill Center calendar (hillcenterdc.org/events/) after September 1, call 549-4172 or visit capitolhillhistory.org/lectures.html. The organizers suggest that all guests arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the event. Seating will begin at 7 p.m. for those who hold reservations. Available seats will be released to guests on the wait list beginning at 7:15 p.m.
